Question
Mr. Rollout,
When I have large-scale, multi-site technology solutions that need to be rolled out, often times I require multiple services at each site location.
Typically the work intensity required at each site is short. However, I must hire a company to deliver equipment, contact another to install it, call an organization for my cabling and circuit needs, and on and on. My project costs (not to mention time requirements!) begin to skyrocket! Isn't there a better way?
Mr. Rollout Says
Absolutely. There is a better way!
From what you've told me, you are describing a Category 1 Technology Rollout. By definition, a Category 1 consists of short work intensity within a timeframe of 1 day or less at each site. An example of this would be a demarc extension with a router installation at each location. (For more information on Technology Rollout Categories, download our white paper.) |

The first thing I suggest is to know what to look for from a technology rollout company. And in this case, examination of their service offerings is critical to ensure that they have all the services you'll need for every site. While this can seem quite cumbersome, if the company uses a comprehensive Rollout Services Model as part of their Technology Rollout System, the work will be done for you! The Rollout Services Model defines the company's services by components (for instance, Equipment & Technology or Circuits). This makes it easy for you to determine if the technology rollout company provides the services required for your project.
These components, being part of the overall Rollout Services Model, will be integrated so that the technology rollout company is able to provide all required services in one multi-service truck roll.
Benefits of a Multi-Service Truck Roll
So how does a Rollout Services Model lower costs and time? For starters it eliminates the need for multiple truck rolls. Fewer truck rolls is the single biggest factor in employing the most cost effective technology rollout services for your project. This not only means less time required to complete the project, but also less cost for technician travel, setup time, effort & time required from each site's point of contact, etc. Thus, one truck roll with multiple services is the most efficient way to stay under budget and ensure that deadlines are met on time (if not early!).
A Complete Rollout Services Model
If you're looking for a complete Rollout Services Model (and you should be!) to provide all the technology rollout services for any project as well as ensure that you will get the most cost-effective option (again, think Multi-Service Truck Roll), then look no further! These 9 service components cover any technology rollout requirements nationwide or globally:
- Project Management
- Circuits
- Equipment & Technology
- Cabling
- Site Surveys & Estimates
- Nationwide Warehousing
- 24/7 Maintenance
- Billing
- Solution Support
Remember: If you know the criteria for evaluating a technology rollout company, then you'll be assured that you have chosen the most “cost and time effective” option for your next project.
