What Is EUCR?

EUCR stands for End User Contingency Requirements. These are the requirements you need to meet in order for a carrier to provide cabling to your property. The carrier will lay out these steps in a EUCR letter, which they will provide to you.

EUCR Site Readiness Letter from Carrier

The EUCR site readiness letter will explain which steps you need to take before the carrier will install ethernet on your property. You may need some or all of these steps:

  1. Conduit to Your building

  2. Pathway to Your Suite

  3. Backboard for Circuit

  4. Dedicated Power Outlet

  5. Grounding for Equipment

Planning Your Site Readiness Project

Once you receive your EUCR letter from your access provider, it is imperative to set forth a plan that ensures your site readiness project runs smoothly. Without a proper understanding of the project scope, site revisits and delays in service can cost you valuable time and money.

  • Site validate the EUCR letter to determine the requirements provided are correct and accurate.
  • Analyze requirements for cost savings and suggestions on changes in specification.
  • Meet with a building representative for approval.
  • Set up a meeting with the local access provider engineer, with EUCR letter, to nail down exact requirements.

For over 25 years, Concert has managed the installation of over one million circuits and become a trusted nationwide partner by offering a single-source solution that eliminates all of your site readiness project management needs.

The 5 Steps to EUCR Site Readiness

Conduit to Building

This could mean boring an underground path, running aerial conduit from utility poles, or installing conduit in parking areas. If a pathway already exists, the service provider will require validation.

Backboard for Circuit

The EUCR letter will outline minimum backboard or rack space required for necessary equipment. Backboard must be fire rated and meet environmental and safety regulations.

Pathway to Suite

Pathway from the building telecom room(riser room) to the tenant suite. If a new pathway is needed, things like core holes, innerduct, and fire ratings of materials will need to be addressed.

Dedicated Power Outlet

A dedicated power outlet for local access provider equipment. If one is not available and electrician may be needed to properly install an outlet that meets provider's regulations.
